Welcome to Cherry Quilts

Welcome to my quilting studio! My name is Cherry, and I’m based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. I specialise in hand-guided custom quilting, edge to edge quilting, basting, and binding. I welcome patchworkers of any experience level; let me support you in bringing your creations to life.

My passion for sewing began in childhood, when my grandmother guided me in making clothes and bedding for my dolls. Later, I pursued my love of home furnishings by earning a degree in interior design. It deepened my understanding of colour, textiles, and composition, and in 2012, I began taking commissions as a free motion embroidery artist.

My foray into quilting started in 2018, when I began working in a well known patchwork and quilting shop in Northamptonshire. There, I was trained on a Gammill Long Arm with IntelliQuilter, allowing me to transfer my expertise in free motion embroidery to the world of quilting. I became their in-house custom quilter, honing my skills and developing my unique style.

During the lockdown in late 2020, I invested in a Handi Quilter Infinity Long Arm from Pinhole Quilting. To increase productivity, I added a Pro-Stitcher computerised system to my home studio set up this year. I also install Handi Quilter machines for Pinhole Quilting’s customers with my partner Simon.

This year I have started teaching various sewing workshops such as free motion quilting, patchwork and other sewing projects.
